Somnath · Dwarka · Gir Forest · Rann of Kutch · Ahmedabad
Gujarat is the westernmost state of India, with Gandhinagar as its capital and Ahmedabad as its largest city. Home to the Gujarati-speaking people, this remarkable state has been shaped by great dynasties — from the Mauryas and Guptas to the Pratiharas and Chalukyas (Solanki) — under whose reign Gujarat witnessed great progress and prosperity.
From the sacred shores of Somnath and the holy city of Dwarka to the wild grasslands of Gir and the surreal white desert of the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat offers an extraordinary blend of spirituality, wildlife, history, and culture that is truly unlike any other Indian state.

The best time to visit Gujarat is October to February (winter season) when the weather is cool and pleasant, ideal for sightseeing and outdoor activities. This period also coincides with the famous Rann Utsav festival (November to February) and Navratri celebrations. Avoid May and June as it can get extremely hot.
